Today for #SpoilYourselfSunday, we’re celebrating America Recycles Day by showing you how to recycle coffee grounds in DIY haircare and skincare recipes! Light a candle or some relaxing incense and get ready for a home spa day!

  • Give yourself an exfoliating facial by combining equal parts used coffee grounds, cocoa powder, and plain yogurt (you can add some honey or essential oils if you like) – then slather it on and let it sit before washing off for smoother, brighter skin!
  • Use those grounds all over your body for a DIY anti-cellulite treatment that really works. Hop in the shower (this will get messy) and mix coffee grounds with a little water, olive oil, or coconut oil for a scrub that you can use on your cellulite-y bits. Leave it on for a few minutes, then rinse off. This recipe also makes a great foot scrub if you’re not ready to scrub down all over.
  • Give your strands a break from all that product buildup by using grounds as a scalp scrub. Simply grab a handful of used coffee grounds and massage into your wet scalp. It’ll feel a bit gritty, but it’s getting all that buildup out, and once you rinse it out, your hair will be shinier and softer than ever! The caffeine may also help boost hair growth.
  • Make your own energizing, anti-cellulite soap from used coffee grounds with this recipe!
  • Bonus! Soak your hair in leftover coffee to give it more shine and depth – lighter brunettes and darker blondes will get some lowlights and deeper color as a result. You can also soak your whole body in leftover coffee to get a healthy insta-tan in the winter months.
