Do you get enough sleep every night? And even if you answered “yes,” how well are you sleeping? Good quality sleep is so important, and amazingly, it’s one of those rare things that doesn’t have a lot to do with how much money you have. It’s pretty much a matter of shutting down, putting away your devices, and making a point to take good care of yourself. There is one thing you can do to make sure you sleep well, though, and it’s a good one! You might have to spend a little money on this one, but it’s worth it for so many reasons. Ready? Put a plant in your bedroom!
It turns out that there are so many good reasons for keeping a plant in your bedroom, besides how pretty and homey it looks! Here are some reasons that having a plant can help you sleep better:
1. Being around nature is good for you:
Quite simply, being around nature can have a calming effect. Bring some nature indoors in the form of a plant!
2. Plants help purify the air:
It’s true! Plants can help filter toxins from the air just as well as expensive air purifiers.
3. Certain plants help make you sleepy:
Some plants do this better than others, for example, lavender, which can help slow heart rate, reduce blood pressure, and lower stress levels.
4. Plants emit oxygen:
In addition to removing toxins from the air, plants emit oxygen, which is good for your brain and helps you rest.
5. Plants are natural air fresheners:
Plants (well, most) smell really good, which helps you relax and fall asleep.
6. Plants can help with allergies:
Of course lots of people are allergic to certain plants, but their air filtering properties help remove allergens. You know how much better you’ll sleep when your allergies aren’t bothering you.
7. Plant help with humidity levels:
Too much humidity is uncomfortable, but so is too little. Plants help humidify the air, which helps with sinus problems, dry throat, and allergies.
Bring a plant into your bedroom- you’ll love how it looks, and see if it doesn’t improve your sleep quality!
