There’s a wealth of inspiration, information and great ideas all around us. The notebook app on my iPhone is one of the greatest things that ever happened to me because I can write notes to myself whenever I’m struck with a brilliant idea, or if someone gives me any useful or interesting information that I want to remember. The problem is that my best ideas come to me at those times when I can’t actually act on them or write them down for later- like in the shower, or in the middle of a run. And then, of course, I forget them! The great ideas, I mean. I remember very well that I had a great idea, I just can’t remember for the life of me what it was. Can anyone relate here? Maybe I need to eat more brain food…
Anyway, I thought of something really great last night while I was plagued with insomnia. I didn’t have anything handy nearby to jot it down and I was too tired to get up for a pen or my phone. “Don’t worry,” I assured myself. “This is such a fabulous idea you’ll remember it for sure!” I remember this thought, for sure. But that great and inspiring idea? I’m afraid it’s lost in the black hole of my memory. But since it was such a mind-blowing idea that I was sure to be able to remember without even writing it down, I figured a few minutes of Googling random thoughts would bring it back easily. Well, I was wrong about that and I’m still very frustrated. I’m going to work all day at trying to remember, but I do feel a little bit better because I found something great and inspiring. It’s titled “Unusual Uses for Ordinary Things” and it’s full of really amazing ideas that I can’t wait to try out. It’s so good that I’m sharing the link to it right here so that everyone can benefit from my forgetfulness.
