How nice does a spa getaway sound right now? Pretty fabulous, I know. Second question: What are the odds of that happening right now? I can’t answer for anyone else, but I know that for me the answer is a very sad “no.” It’s hard to find the time or the money for a relaxing retreat at a spa, but time and money don’t have to hold you back from a relaxing spa experience. Not if you know how to turn your bathroom into a spa retreat! Here are some inexpensive ways that you can relax in luxury in your very own bathroom:

1. Essential oils:

Aromatherapy is really effective in helping you relax, and it’s easy to do. To learn more about essential oils and their benefits, read this post.

2. Scented candles:

Scented candles not only perfume the air, but provide a relaxing ambience, as well. They are really great to use if your bathroom lighting doesn’t have a dimmer. Just make sure to to extinguish them when you leave the room.

3. Music:

There’s something to be said for quiet when you’re trying to relax, but soothing music can do the trick, too.

4. Soft colors:

Bright fun colors are- well- fun, but if you’re trying to create an oasis, consider soft, neutral colors on the walls and room decor.

5. Fluffy towels:

You’d be surprised what a difference you can make when you trade in your old towels for big, new, fluffy ones! And trade in all of them; a uniform look is more relaxing. Also, nice: a fluffy bathrobe for luxurious feeling.

6. Lotions:

Moisturize with a scented lotion and keep the pampered feeling going all day!

7. Dispensers:

Matching dispensers create a cohesive and streamlined look that’s soothing to your mind and more spa-like than commercial bottles. You can find dispenser sets at all price points, so you don’t even have to spend a lot of money on that.

8. Plants:

Plants add life and tranquility, so get a low-maintenance plant for your bathroom. You can also bring in a vase of fresh flowers.

9. Clean up clutter:

Clutter=chaos, and that is the opposite of relaxation. Clear away clutter and anything else that’s distracting and messy. Store those things in cabinets, or put them away neatly in sets of baskets.

10. Tub tray:

A tub tray is a small expense that goes a long way in providing a decadent experience. Use it to hold a book, a glass of champagne, a cup of tea, or anything else that will help you escape from the everyday!
