Okay, so maybe you don’t vacuum as often as you thing you should, but you’re not hopeless, either. You keep your home reasonably clean and you stay on top of things. But are you sure about that? Here are some things you may not be cleaning regularly- and you should:
1. Hair brushes:
You should clean out your hairbrush at least once a month. Pull out the hair and then wash with warm water and shampoo.
2. Makeup brushes:
Keeping your makeup brushes clean is important for preventing breakouts. Clean once a month with cold water and gentle shampoo, then air dry.
3. Remote controls:
Remote controls get touched all the time so you want to clean them at least once a week with an antibacterial wipe.
4. Phones:
Think about all the places you put down your phone, and how often you touch it with dirty hands. Clean it with an antibacterial wipe every few days.
5. Refrigerator door handles:
Wipe them down to clean off germs and maybe even food.
6. Coffee maker:
Your coffee will taste better when it’s brewed in a clean coffee maker. Once a month, run 4 ounces of white vinegar, then follow with two cycles of plain water.
7. Insides of garbage cans and lids:
You understand why.
8. Yoga mat:
You sweat on it and it lies on the floor. Wipe it down every week.
9. Keyboard:
Clean your keyboard with Q-tips or a soft toothbrush.
10. Dryer vent:
Clean out the lint regularly as it collects.
11. Doorknobs:
Full of germs!
12. Toothbrush holder:
The germs on the toothbrush holder love the wet environment. Clean it once a week.
