It might require you to step out of your comfort zone, and that can be scary, but don’t let that hold you back! Don’t worry about failing either; there’s no such thing as failure as long as you learn from the experience. And remember that you don’t have to do big things right away, baby step are perfectly fine as long as you’re making progress. Need some convincing? Here are 12 reasons to try something new:

3. You’ll learn about yourself. It’s the only way to find new things that you like: activities, foods, experiences.

4. It’s stimulating. New is exciting! And trying new things is a great way to stimulate your brain, helping to keep it young and healthy.

9. It makes you more interesting. Who doesn’t want to be more interesting?

10. You will see the rewards. Taking a risk almost always results in rewards that are very satisfying.

11. You’ll inspire others. Having others see you try new things imparts a valuable lesson, especially if you have kids.
