How’s that for a title? I bet I got your attention! Popcorn is one of my favorite snack and I hardly need anyone to tell me the reasons I need to eat it- it’s delicious and it’s crunchy- that’s all we need to know, right? Well, yes- I guess- if you want to keep it simple. But maybe you think popcorn is an indulgent snack and you should limit how often you eat it, or maybe you don’t know yet how much you love it. So here’s a list of reasons that popcorn is the best snack ever and you should eat it!

1. It’s low in calories:

How many delicious and satisfying snacks can boast this same thing? A cup of air-popped popcorn has just 30 calories and stove-top popcorn made with oil has only 50! That means two cups of popcorn can weigh in at less than 100 calories!

2. It’s high in fiber:

Fiber means lots of good things for your health, including good digestion, and it also makes popcorn is a filling snack.

3. It’s high in iron:

Many people, especially women, have low iron. Boost your iron stores with some popcorn!

There are so many ways to flavor popcorn, you can eat it every day and not get sick of it! Of course there’s nothing wrong with the classic salt, but you can change it up with herbs and spices to keep it interesting.

Yup, popcorn is a whole grain, which has all kinds of benefits. It’s a “good” carb!
