If you have your health, you have everything- isn’t there a saying that goes something like that? If not, then I just created something smart, because it’s true. When you’re feeling good you can do just about anything. And it’s good to know that to a certain extent, the state of your health is in your own hands- it’s up to you to live your healthiest lifestyle, and anyone will agree that it’s well worth the effort! Here are ten healthy things you should be doing every day:

1. Make your bed:

You might be wondering how making your bed relates to your health, but trust me, it’s important. Make your bed first thing in the morning to start your day in a productive and positive way!

2. Drink lots of water:

You knew that would be on this list, didn’t you? Your body needs water to function optimally, and drinking enough of it will also help keep your appetite and weight under control.

3. Eat breakfast:

You know this one, too! Get your metabolism started and you’ll burn calories more efficiently throughout the day. Eating breakfast also supplies your brain and your body with the nutrients they need so you can feel good and get things done. Of course your choices here count, so make sure you get the right mix of protein, healthy fats, and complex carbs.

4. Feel gratitude:

You should take a few minutes each day to feel grateful for the good things in your life, even the simple ones. Get into this habit and you’ll feel happy and emotionally strong. You can start or end your day by listing three good things, or do it sometime during the day when you need a break or a boost, but make it a regular practice.

5. Exercise:

Exercise is important for your physical and mental health, so get moving every day. Choose activities you like so you’ll want to do them.

6. Spend some time outdoors:

Fresh air and sunshine are great for your mood and your body.

7. Get enough sleep:

Some of us need more, some less, but on average you should sleep about seven hours a night. Create a calming bedtime ritual to help you calm down for sleep.

8. Eat vegetables:

Eat a variety of vegetables so you get a good amount of important vitamins, antioxidants, and fiber.

9. Connect socially:

Social interaction is important for overall health. It’s also good to know that the good health habits of your friends and loved ones will tend to influence your behavior as well.

10. Smile:

There are so many health benefits to smiling- both physical and emotional- so make sure you do it often.
